Alice Hong

Alice has been deeply inspired by the teachings of yoga since 2000, drawn in by its holistic quality of unifying body, mind and heart. Since she was a young child, she would ask the timeless questions of, “Who am I? Why am I here?” Yoga offers her a platform to explore these questions and a perspective of understanding that has kept her curious and engaged with the subtle and profound nuances of life.

For Alice, the beauty of the yoga practice lies in its capacity to reveal the intelligence of the body, the wisdom of the human heart and the indwelling nature of Spirit. She feels fortunate to have spent time with luminous teachers, near and far, who continue to light the path.

The practice she shares continually evolves and comes from her studies in many traditions, with its primary roots in yogic lineages. Anusara has been most influential – it awoke her passion for philosophy, mythology, intelligent alignment and embodiment. She has also studied Flow, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Meditation, Chant, Mantra, Nidra and many other modalities. More than a particular style, Alice offers an integration of timeless wisdom and modern day practices in a manner that is meaningful and relevant. She holds space for others to listen deeply, love fully and live whole-heartedly.

Her home base is Calgary where she offers classes, retreats and workshops. She has been an ambassador for Lululemon, B-Yoga and Lole. Alice facilitates 200h, 300h, and 500h Yoga Teacher Trainings through Inspired Yoga Institute, is the creator of A Path of Inquiry: Yoga Teacher Mentorship Program and facilitator for Bodhi Tree Yoga Center’s Adjuster Program.
